Drama: Agboola Ajayi reappoints sacked media aides

Not up to 24 hours that Ondo State Governor Sacked six media aides attached to his Deputy,  the Deputy Governor Agboola Alfred Ajayi again has reapproved the appointment of Mr Allen Sowore as Media Adviser.

In a statement signed by Chief Press Secretary, Office of Deputy Governor,
Ondo State, Babatope Okeowo said the media aides should resume with immediate effect.

The Statement read in path "In the meantime all the sacked aides of the deputy governor have been reappointed as his personal aides and are hereby advised to return all government properties in their possession to the appropriate quarters within 24 hours.

"We also wish to inform the people of Ondo State and the general public that the deputy governor would speak about all contending issues at the appropriate time.

Court Strikes out Oniju of Iju-Odo Chieftaincy Declaration

A High court sitting in Okitipupa has nullified the Oniju of Iju-Odo Chieftaincy declaration, holding that the State Government had no power to create a new chieftaincy without the consent of the Rebuja of Osooro land, the prescribed authority over chieftaincy matters in the communities within Osooro land, including Iju-Odo Community. The court declared that the Rebuja of Osooro land is the prescribed authority over chieftaincy matters in Osooro land and that the State Government has no power to create a new chieftaincy without following due process.  In a judgement made available to our correspondent, the court also held that the appointment of the 6th defendant as the Oniju of Iju-Odo was null and void, as it was not done in accordance with the custom and tradition of Iju-Odo.
