No doubt, Ijoka and Oda-Board roads in Akure South Local Government Area of Ondo State have become death traps. For the past four years, passing through these roads have become a very excruciating experience for those who work in Akure metropoly but reside along these areas because, journeying daily along these route is akin to sojourning through hell. With recent developments along the road, one does not really need any prophet to conclude that hell is not really far from us.
Few days ago, passing through Oda-Board road, through Ajipowo camp, linking Ipinle Rere camp to Odode Idanre was a harrowing and traumatic experiences.
Accident in these roads have become a normal thing, lots of vehicles have been damaged, especially when driven by those who are unaware of the dreadful state of the roads and has led many to their untimely graves.
It would be recalled that governor Rotimi Akeredolu (SAN) in February 2018 flagged off the dualisation of the Hospital/Ijoka road in Akure, the state capital, in commemoration of the first year anniversary of the governor in office, with the assurance to the people of timely completion of the road project. However, residents and property owners on the axis have continued to expressed their disappointment that contractors handling the work are intentionally slowing the pace of work in the roads, perhaps for political reasons.
Since construction work in these roads decides to move at a snail speed, it's pertinent to call on the Government to fix the failed portions of the roads between Ijomimo Junction, Power line junction, Ijoka central mosque through Ile Nla -Sunday bus stop-Breez FM to the extreme end of Ijoka. In Oda road, the ministry of works must urgently attend to the failed portion of Kajola junction, Silo, Millennium College of Health Technology, Ilekun, Oda police station to Ogbe High School in Oda. Maybe I shouldn't talk about board road because it's in a state of total collapse.
At the beginning of this marriage, loud promises were made. Have those promises been kept? They said it is too early to ask. The wife is still promising she will birth male and female even after months of due diligence in the bedroom. She asks the worried household that the last wife who was sacked, what did she deliver in the years of its noisy copulation with the husband? This present wife is working hard to bring forth viable offspring. Her efforts are not felt for now because of the witchcraft of the first wife. My question is, for how long are we we going to persevere?
While the state government is putting efforts to redevelop and modernise the roads, one would like to implore the Ondo State ministry of Works to as a matter of urgency mobilise its men and resources to address the failed portions of the roads in order to avert imminent disaster, as well as lessen every trouble associated with playing the roads.
Need I say more?
