As the gubernatorial election draws nearer in Ondo State, the People’s Democratic Party has officially flagged off the campaign of its candidate, Eyitayo Jegede SAN and his running mate, Ikengboju Gboluga today.
The campaign which was held at the MKO Democracy park, Akure was overwhelmed with supporters of the party, party leaders, women leaders and host of others.
Other bigwigs present at the event were Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto, former Governor of Ekiti State, Segun Oni, former Governor of Osun State, Olagunsoye Oyinlola; Senator Nicholas Tofowomo, Senator Ayo Akinyelure; Senator Biodun Olujimi among others.
In his words, the National Chairman of the PDP, Prince Uche Secondus urged people of the state not to allow anyone to deceive them, urging them to vote for Jegede come October 10.
On his part, Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, who is also the Chairman of the National Campaign Committee for Ondo State, said Eyitayo Jegede is a man of impeccable character who has been tested and trusted and must be given a chance for the betterment of the state.
Also, Governor AminuTambuwal of Sokoto State berated the APC led government in areas of infrastructure, security, agriculture among others, noting that “APC is not a choice for Ondo State” .
Appreciating PDP supporters, Eyitayo Jegede said he was prepared to take Ondo State to an enviable height, urging all PDP supporters to continue to campaign for the party’s victory on October 10
"I promised to run a government with human face, a government that will prioritise growing our local economy" he said.
