EKITI BYE ELECTION: NYSC DG VISITS INJURED CORPS MEMBER IN EKITI HOSPITAL




The Director-General of National Youth Service Corps, Brigadier General Shuaibu Ibrahim has commiserated with Corps Member, Saidu Mohammed Adamu, who sustained gunshot injuries during the bye-election held last Saturday in Ekiti-East Local Government Area of the State.

Speaking during his visit to the Corps Member who is receiving treatment at the Federal Teaching Hospital Ido-Ekiti, the Director-General prayed God to grant him and other patients at the hospital quick recovery.

He commended Adamu and other Corps Members who took part in the conduct of the election as adhoc personnel of the Independent National Electoral Commission, for demonstrating patriotism.

Ibrahim advised the injured Corp Member to sustain his patriotic zeal, and never be deterred by the activities of political thugs who disrupted the election at his polling unit.

The Director-General also thanked the Chief Medical Director of the hospital, Professor Kunle Ajayi, and his team for ensuring that the Corps Member received timely medical attention



He used the occasion to thank Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State for footing the medical bill of the Corps Member, and called on all Nigerians to always treat Corps Members deployed to their communities for National Service as their own children.

"Corps Members are apolitical, they always conduct electoral duties with high sense neutrality, and must be protected by all and sundry" the Director-General said.

The Chief Medical Director of the teaching hospital assured the Director-General that his team would continue to give Saidu Mohammed Adamu every necessary medicare to ensure his complete recovery
