Members of the National Executive Council (NEC) Alumni Association Adeyemi College of Education (ACE), Ondo has made a passionate appeal to the Federal Government to kindly appoint in earnest a substantial Vice Chancellor that would pilot the affairs of the newly upgraded University of Education..
The body in a communique issued at the end of the NEC meeting, held in Ondo town and signed by its National Public Relation Officer and the Acting Secretary, Dr Yemi Olugbamigbe, said the move will enable the new university administrator to implement the transition process in a way that will be hitch free and humanely progressive.
The Alumni body while lauded the efforts of President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Mohammadu Buhari in transforming education sector in the country and making the dream of the association a reality by assenting to the upgrading of the institution.
Describing the upgrade of the institution as a signpost to the President Mohammadu Buhari commitment to his electoral promises, also appreciate the former President Goodluck Jonathan and the Minister of Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu and other organs of the ministry.
The Alumni members however noted that the pronouncement of their almar matter as sustansive university of education, marks the achievement of the drive to have specialised university in the education sector as operative in some other sectors of the national life and also increase the push for a better quality of education in the country.
The Alumni association also described the commitment of members of the eight and nineth assembly towards the upgrading of the institution, as monumental. The group particularly mentioned the member representing Ondo East and West federal constituency, Mr. Biola Makinde as one of those who facilitated the signing.
While appreciating the host community under the leadership of Oba Dr. Victor Kiladejo and other notable indegenes of the town at home and in the Diasporas over there intentionally proactive in achieving the status .
