Residents of Ketu in Ikosi/Ejirin Local Council Development Area,LCDA under Epe Local Government Area of Lagos State on Monday, called on the Ooni of Ife,Oba Adeyeye Enita Ogunwusi,Ojaja the II, Oba Frederick Obateru Akinruntan,the Olugbo of Igbo Kingdom and other prominent monarchs and Southwest Governors'Forum SGF, to stop one Mr Wahab Hakeem from parading himself as the Alaketu of Ketu Kingdom.
This followed after the immediate past monarch, Adeyemi Adefowora who succeeded late Alaketu of Ketu Kingdom,Oba (Dr) Adegboyega Adefowora but assassinated during coronation, however, causing the stool of Alaketu to remains vacant till date.
Speaking with our correspondent on the gross misconducts of Mr Wahab Hakeem to Ketu community, those residents who craved anonymity explained that the self-imposed monarch lack all perquisites to rule as a King.
The residents also claimed that the said Wahab Hakeem is only entitled to occupy the seat of Oluwo and not Oba, and that he is not from the main Osokeji ruling house but a sojourner, saying the supreme court has delivered judgement on the matter where the main five Kingmakers testified to the judgement of the apex court
They also alleged that, the impersonated Alaketu has ever before the late monarch, Oba Adegboyega Adefowora joined his ancestors has been acting as the successor where he illegally sold many inheritance particularly, the land in Ketu, noting that for someone to acquire a land to erect a building in Ketu area, he must be rest assured he has money to pay double.
They maintained that the activities of Mr Wahab Hakeem to residents living in Ketu could be described as inhumane, alleging him with desperation, power thirsty and above all dictatorship in all manners, adding that as such,such with nude attitudes can not rule a community successfully.
Akeem Wahab is not from Ketu, neither from royal family. So, we don't want him as a king.
He's only entitle to Oluwo seat,
and all our fertile land have been sold by him.
He is only vying the stool of Alaketu for the sake of land and not for the masses.
We are now calling on the Southwest Governors'Forum,the Ooni of Ife, Awujale of Ijebu-Ode and other notable traditional rulers in Oodua region to rescue us from the hand of pharaoh. Residents of Ketu appealed.
They however called on all high profiled traditional rulers in the Southwest region to come to their aid by installing one Babajide Adekoya Adefowora as the authentic Alaketu of Ketu kingdom.
Some residents while speaking with our correspondent described Oba, Babajide Adekoya, the hopeful King, as one who can bring development, growth and advancement to Ketu land and also bring back the lost glory of the kingdom through his wealthy experiences, having travelled far and wide, calling on Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State expedite action by stopping Mr Wahab Akeem from parading himself as Alaketu of Ketu Land.
"The only one who can fill the left over vacuum is Adekoya Babajide,a son to late Oba Adegboyega Adefowora.
He has visited many advanced nations of the world, and we believe he can do exploit.
We're urging governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu to tell Mr Wahab to stop proclaiming himself as our Oba".
Meanwhile, all efforts to reach out to the alleged person, Mr Wahab Hakeem to disregard the claims proved abortive as at the time of filing this report.
