The State Coordinator, National Youth Service Corps, Mrs Grace Ogbuogebe has tasked Corps members deployed to Oyo and dislodged from Lagos State to rule their world with ingenuity. She urged them to brace up so as not to lag behind.
She also challenged them to show commitment in serving their fatherland, stating said they have been trained to bring positive changes in all the nooks and crannies of Oyo State while impacting the entire nation.
She gave the charge at the official closing Ceremony of the 2022 Batch ‘C’ Stream One Orientation Course at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Iseyin.
Ogbuogebe said throughout the period of orientation exercise , the Officials have worked to ensure that the Corps members were adequately equipped physically, psychologically and socially to withstand any challenges they might encounter in the course of their service to the nation.
"None of them should therefore have any excuse for not performing to expectation.
SC equally stated that the various leadership training, drills and motivational lectures they have undergone are to broaden their horizon about life while imploring them to imbibe all the trainings maximally .
She therefore urged them to impact positively on their host communities through the Special sensitization Programmes they have volunteered for while on camp .
On self reliance,she encouraged them to seize the opportunity of the SAED platform to acquire skills to help stem down the rising rate of unemployment among graduate Youths and become business owners and also contribute positively to the growth of Nigeria’s economy.
The Coordinator also appealed to the Corps members to avoid embarking on frivolous journeys whether within or outside the state so as to avoid unpleasant circumstances and should obtain the State Coordinator’s permission if there’s a need for them to travel.
Mrs.Ogbuogebe warned the corps members not to put themselves in harm's way by always being security conscious. She asked them to always disclose their movements and destination to their colleagues and avoid being a lone ranger.
