Residents want Wahab Hakeem as the new Alaketu of Ketu Kingdom

Residents of Ketu in Ikosi/Ejirin Local Council Development Area,LCDA under Epe Local Government Area of Lagos State on Monday, called on the Ooni of Ife,Oba Adeyeye Enita Ogunwusi,Ojaja the II, Oba Frederick Obateru Akinruntan, the Olugbo of Igbo Kingdom and other prominent monarchs and Southwest Governors'Forum SGF, to approve the installation of one Mr Wahab Hakeem as the Alaketu of Ketu Kingdom.

This followed after the immediate past monarch, Adeyemi Adefowora who succeeded late Alaketu of Ketu Kingdom, Oba (Dr) Adegboyega Adefowora but assassinated during coronation, however, causing the stool of Alaketu to remains vacant till date.

Speaking with our correspondent under the condition of anonymity, some residents explained that Mr Wahab Hakeem is entitled to the stool as Alaketu of Ketu community and has all perquisites to rule as a King.

Wahab Hakeem is entitled to occupy the position of the King and not the seat of Oluwo as published by some elements working with Babajide Adekoya Adefowora who they claimed is entitled to the king

The publication that he is not from the main Osokeji ruling house but a sojourner, is a story that was far from the truth, the act of painting Mr Wahab Hakeem as an impostor is highly condemnable

It will be recalled that Wahab Hakeem was earlier reported to have been impersonating himself as the New Alaketu of Ketu and selling some inheritance particularly the land of Ketu.

"To set the record straight, Waheed Hakeem is someone with timber and caliber in the society and can never stool so low to see his integrity wash down like waters from the hills

They however called on all high profiled  traditional rulers in the Southwest region to look critically into this matter and approve Mr Wahab Hakeem as the new Alaketu of Ketu Kingdom without delay and debunk the earlier publication of installing Babajide Adekoya Adefowora as the new Alaketu of Ketu
