Olujigba, Iralepo, others storms ACAOSA End of the year party in Akure.

It was an event filled with pomp and pageantry as Aquinas College Akure Old Students Association, 83-88/89 Set hold its end of the year party in Akure, the Ondo state capital. 

The epoch making event which was held at FFA resort center,  Oba Ile road  on Monday (yesterday) was graced by dignitaries in the society. 

The Chairman of the Set, Com. Stephen Adedipe in his welcome address appreciated the members of the association for their immense support since he assumed office as the President


He noted that in the last 365 days since he and his excos came on board, they have been able to achieve some things, among which are : inauguration of 3 vital committees, like welfare, business and scholarship committees to take care of the needs of the members, ongoing distribution of plliatives to over 30 families in various axis across Nigeria, collation and distribution of welfare packages to the families of deceased mates in December, 2021 by members of the welfare committee, among others.

"The financial status of our organisation is also an area we have worked on. We have been able to set a base amount payable by everyone as annual dues, so as to make payments easier for everyone".

"We need to stand firm to make our association solid. No better way to do this than making sure everyone of us pays our annual dues promptly. It is a duty we all owe ourselves as friends and as partners in progress. 

"As it stands now, we humbly solicit for assistance to get scholarships for the children of our deceased mates; so also for the children of our mates who are alive but are having one difficulty or the other due to the economic situation in the country. 

"These can be discussed with the scholarship committee so as to know where and how such gestures can be properly directed".


The guest speaker, Mr Adefemi Adetogo encouraged the members to always take note of everything that is happening in their lives and always have a plan in case of unexpected things.

He also urged them to be focused and not to be in competition with anyone. Stressing that they need to take care of their health, build relationship with their creator, do a thorough research before investing in any business, avoid spending money anyhow, build a united family where love strifes.

In his good will message, the Iralepo of Isikan,  Oba  Olugbenga Ojo described the event as a great one, urging the old students to do more for their alma mata as the school has done so much to impact into their lives.


The Olujigba of Ijigba, Oba Luyi Rotimi,The Royal Father of the event in his remark expressed his happiness and enjoined the members to continue to be their brother's keeper, keep the strong bond they share, learn to keep records and keep moving.
