Olominu to put smile on widows' faces across Ikole LG

The Executive Chairman of Ikole Local Government, Hon. Sola Olominu on Wednesday 17th of May, 2023,  has promised to put smiles on the faces of hundreds of widows in the local government

This was done to alleviate their pressure under the current harsh economic situation in Nigeria and to achieve the lofty and commendable goal of the BAO Widows' Foundation. 

Newsline NG learnt that the initiative of Sola Olominu will be inaugurated on the May, 24, 2023 couple with the commissioning activities of various projects embarked upon by the Chairman of the Council.

Projects slated for commissioning are the Chairman's quarters, the Legislative building, the Solar electrification project and the Ikole Town Hall.

The Wife of the Ekiti State Governor, Her Excellency, Dr Mrs Oluyemi Oyebanji is expected to grace the commissioning ceremony.

Speaking with our correspondent, Hon. Sola Olominu, said the projects were borne out of the love he have for his constituency, to generate revenue for the Local government, to position the local government for much-needed economic emancipation and to also put the local government in the spotlight.

His words, "it took a lot of sacrifice and the initial approval of the former Governor of the state, Dr John Kayode Fayemi to prosecute the renovation of the town hall and the fantastic support of the governor of the state, His Excellency, Mr Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, BAO.

"I am doing this for the coming Chairman to benefit from the economic and foundational legacy we are laying, and to propel them to build on it for the benefit of prosperity," the Chairman said.

The youthful Executive Chairman reiterated that he had been able to convince the people of Ekiti State that the youths can do a lot and that if entrusted with more power the youths would deliver dividends of democracy as has just been delivered by him. 

He however promised the people of his local government to expect more goodies,

"I'll perform wonders as a local government chairman and beat any existing records  before I leave office."

While on a courtesy visit, the MHR-Elect of Ikole/Oye Federal Constituency, Hon. Akin Rotimi, while emphasizing the importance of revenue generation for the local government, applauded Olominu for a job well-done for turning the face of Ikole LG around positively through massive projects embarked upon.
