Glitz in FUOYE as Alumni Association Donates 36 fridges to the institution

The Alumni Association, Federal University Oye-Ekiti has donated no fewer than thirty-six fridges to the university 

Newsline NG learnt that the donation was done with a view to support its logistic needed ahead of the November accreditation of courses by the regulated bodies.

Presenting the items to the citadel of learning, President Arogundade said the donation was their little gesture to support the forthcoming accreditation. 

"This is a small beginning for bigger and better things to come, This presentation was in alignment with the vision and mission of the association as a major stakeholder in the University to always advance the course of the university, and to also support the good work the Vice-chancellor and his management team are doing especially at this time of great need which is the accreditation process coming up in the university."

"We also believe that this will go a long way to make our university that citadel of learning everyone can be proud of.

Receiving the donations on behalf of the university, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Abayomi Sunday Fasina, expressed gratitude to the alumni for the kind gesture which he described as “a good call coming at the right time.”

"I was once a Director of the Advancement Centre at EKSU and this is the type of vision I had for my university," the VC said.

"I have always wanted people who have a driver of vision, team players, and a  result-oriented people who can think out of the box."



Fasina however lauded the Director of the FUOYE Advancement Centre,  Professor M.O.Oyawoye for having a vision for the center.

He said: " You have not spent 6 months and you have achieved this.

"We have bought 15 fridges and with this one presented,  you have relief our burden.

"I want to commend you for that. You have started building your house. I want to commend you for this project.

Newsline NG however gathered that the donation of the items was done by the National  President, Mr. Arogundade and supported by two members of the association- Mr. Ojo Taiye Adebisi - National General Secretary and the Chief of Staff to the President, Mr. Oladele Ojo.


Top management officers of the institution who graced the occasion included, The Deputy Vice-Chancellor ( Academics), Professor Olubunmi Shittu, DVC ( Administration) Professor Bolanle Opoola, University Registrar, Mr. Ibrahim Adesina Mufutau,  Deputy Director Advancement Centre, Mr. Elabor and Mr. Olarewaju - Alumni Relation officer.
