FUOYE Shield Coop gets New Excos

The Federal University Oye-Ekiti, FUOYE Shield Multi-Purpose Cooperative Society Limited on Thursday elected  it's newly elected officials to oversee the affairs of the cooperative society. 

The election which was held at the Main Auditorium of the institution was regarded as a credible one since inception. 

Newsline NG learnt that Mr. Paul Ogidi emerged as the President of the dynamic Cooperative Society, Mrs. Sasere Mercy Aderonke emerged as the Vice President,  while Mr. Obayemi Adewale emerged as the General Secretary. 

Other winners included; Mr. Owoeye Taiwo Omolade ( Financial Secretary), Mrs. Bunmi Augustina Olarewaju ( Public Relations Officer), and Mrs. Olayemi Rebecca ( Ex-Officio)

Speaking after the announcement of the results, the Chairman of the Electoral Committee, Mr.Bidemi Olaiya Arise expressed gratitude to the congress for finding them worthy to serve in that capacity even though there was a low turnout in the election.

The Chairman however urged the cooperators to always come out emmasee to cast their vote for the candidates of their choice to enjoy the dividend of their work.

Arise also expressed appreciation to the other Electoral Committee, Mrs. Fadamiro Anike, Mrs. Babalola Idowu, and Officer Ogunsakin for their role in ensuring the peaceful conduct of the election.

He stressed that marvelous support is given to them by Congress to a large extent culminating in the successful conduct of a free, fair, and credible election. 

He however admonished the elected executives to harness the good potential with a further investment that will make the society grow



His words, " I want to advise the elected member to be upright, defend their integrity adding that integrity matters most in discharging their duties."

" They should work as a team in the interest of their members " Arise further said.

Speaking with Newsline NG, the new President of FUOYE Shield Cooperative Society,  Mr. Paul Ogidi while expressing delight at the election applaud members of the society for giving him the mandate to serve them.

Mr. Ogidi also appreciate the electoral committee, " they have done a wonderful job, our cooperative are very young, we had our Annual General Meeting, AGM a few weeks ago and it was a very big success "

" It was members that nominated them as an electoral committee and they have been transparent, and you see what they have done, it shows that our cooperative is on the move to progress " 

He went on "My ambition for this society will be the best that other cooperative societies in this university will reckon with in terms of responsibility,  reputation, and interest of the welfare of the cooperators. Adding that the welfare of our members is very important to us.

" We need to make money for the society so that by the next AGM, every member should be able to go home with a reasonable amount of money as a dividend and by God's grace, I think it is achievable," the president-elect said.

Highlights of the event included the administering of the Oath of Office by the Secretary of the Electoral Committee, Mrs. Anike Fadamiro on the newly elected executive members among others.
