Molokun of Atijere, Oba Samuel Adeoye Edema becomes President, Yoruba Obas Forum


It was an event filled with pomp and pageantry in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital as the Molokun of Atijere kingdom in Ilaje Local Government area of Ondo State, His his Royal Majesty, Oba (Dr.) Samuel O. Adeoye (JP), Edema 1,  was elected as the President, Yoruba Obas Forum.

Newsline NG learnt that the he renowned monarch was elected recently with other executive members at the Annual General meeting/Convention held on 27th November, 2023 at Kankanfo Hotel, Ibadan, Oyo State.h

It was gathered that the association of Yoruba Obas Forum which comprises of royal fathers across South West states, included; Yoruba speaking communities in Kogi and Kwara States with its headquarters in Ibadan, Oyo State.

The aims and objectives of the association is to promote and sustain Yoruba traditions, culture and customs. And, to also foster unity and cooperations among Yoruba Obas and its communities.

3. Vice President – Lagos/Ogun – (Alagbado of Agbado)

5. Vice President – Kogi/kwara – (Olujumu of Ijumu)
6. Vice President – Ondo/Ekiti – (Asuada of Isuada)
7. National Secretary kwara State – (Olukotun of Ikotun Ile)
8. Assistant secretary – Lagos State – (Olota of Ota Ikosi)
9. National treasurer Ogun State – (Onigode of Igode)
10. National financial secretary – Osun State – Olasole
11. Legal adviser 1 – Ogun State (Abigi of Ojotumoro)
12. Legal adviser 2 – Ondo State (Olu Igbokoda)
13. PRO – Lagos State – (Alayandelu of Odo Aayandelu)
14. Auditor – Ogun State – (Olu of Aga Olowo)
15. Organising secretary – Oyo State – (Aare Alawo Ekun of Ofiki Land)
16. Welfare – Ogun State – (Ologijo of Ogijo)

Oba Samuel Adeoye Edema while speaking with Coastal Renaissance News, expressed gratitude and appreciation to all Yoruba traditional rulers for their overwhelming support.

According him, he is honored to be elected as the President of Yoruba Obas Forum, pledging to continue to work tirelessly to deliver a better traditional services for all.

“I am deeply humbled and grateful for the overwhelming support and trust all the Yoruba Obas bestowed on me to lead them. I am honored to be elected as your President and pledge to continue to work tirelessly to deliver a better Yoruba race for all. Thank you for believing in me.” Oba Adeoye said
