The Newly President, Yoruba Obas Forum, HRM Oba Samuel Olumide Adeoye Edema has paid a homage to the the Olubadan of Ibadan land, Oba Alayeluwa, Mohood Olalekan Ishola Balogun Alli.
Newsline NG learnt that the visitation was done at the Olubadan's palace being the royal host of Yoruba Obas Forum's Annual General Meeting/Convention 2023 held on November 26 in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital
The Olubadan who spoke through one of his Chiefs, Senator Balogun welcomed the council of Obas and urged the President of the Forum, Oba Samuel Adeoye Edema to foster unity and peace among the Yoruba Obas if re-elected.
Olubadan through his Spokesperson however promised a robust cooperation towards achieving the aims and objectives of the association.
Commenting on the courtesy visit of Oba Samuel Adeoye Edema, the Olubadan of Ibadan, Oba Olalekan Balogun seized the moment to admonished the President to carry everybody along while discharging his duty if re-elected.
“Considering your wealth of experience and exposure, I strongly believe that you possess what it takes to move the association forward.
Olubadan while describing Oba Samuel Adeoye Edema said Adeoye is a 'worthy ambassador of the prestigious Yoruba traditional institution', following his past involvement to foster peaceful coexistence of Yoruba Obas"
Oba Samuel Adeoye Edema who also doubles as the Molokun of Atijere while speaking with our correspondent said, the courtesy visit was necessary because Olubadan is the chief host of the Annual General Meeting/Convention.
He further thanked him for his outstanding roles while commending him for hs unprecedented support.
"I want to appreciate all Yoruba traditional rulers for their unalloyed support and cooperation to pilot the affairs of the forum and I want to specially thanked Olubadan for his moral support, this courtesy visit was done to appreciate the monarch full preparation for the hosting of the 2023 Annual General Meeting/Convention. He said.
Oba Samuel Adeoye Edema in his speech, described the revered monarch as an icon of greatness who provides high-level of dependable and leadership qualities which showcase the cultural dexterity of the Yoruba race.
Oba Adeoye however promised to uphold the dignity of Yoruba traditional heritage.
