The National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has disqualified a governorship aspirant in Ekiti State, Kayode Ojo, from participating in the party’s forthcoming primary election.
The party’s Deputy National Publicity Secretary, Duro Meseko, announced the decision in Abuja on Thursday, confirming that the incumbent governor, Biodun Oyebanji, and another aspirant, Omolayo Oluremi, have been cleared to contest in the primaries scheduled for October 27.
According to Meseko, the disqualification followed the outcome of the screening exercise conducted by the committee set up by the party’s leadership to vet all aspirants ahead of the governorship contest.
With the development, only Oyebanji and Oluremi will now vie for the APC ticket in the race to the 2026 Ekiti State governorship election.
