Clarification on Baba Ijesha’s Release and My Position
I wish to address recent misunderstandings surrounding my statements on the release of Baba Ijesha from prison, following the press statement issued by the Lagos State Attorney General on 16th November 2025.
Let it be clear: I did not claim that Baba Ijesha’s release was the result of a Court of Appeal judgment. My announcement reflected his lawful exit from prison, alongside acknowledgment that the Appeal Court had cleared him of two charges related to indecent treatment of a minor. Any suggestion to the contrary is a misinterpretation of my words.
Break The Silence Foundation and I do not, and will never, condone sexual abuse of children or minors. Our advocacy is grounded in justice, human rights, and the rule of law.
That said, there remain critical and unresolved legal concerns:
1. Non-prosecution of alleged offenders – Damola Adekola and Princess Comedian’s house security (alias Okele) were implicated in sexual abuse of the same minor, yet no charges were pursued despite clear admissions.
2. Potential criminal conduct by Princess Comedian – Evidence indicates grooming of the minor, child pornography, parental negligence, and obstruction of justice. Delayed reporting of prior abuse raises serious legal questions.
3. Concealment of evidence – Key evidence, including the victim’s birth certificate and DVR footage, was withheld, obstructing proper investigation.
It is imperative that the Lagos State Ministry of Justice investigate these matters comprehensively, ensuring justice is applied consistently and the rights of all parties are protected.
I urge the public to consider the facts carefully and avoid narratives that twist statements for sensationalism. Our mission is clear: justice, fairness, and the protection of human dignity remain paramount.
