The Old Students Association of Stella Maris College (SMC), Okitipupa in Okitipupa Local Government Area of Ondo State has set to raise N150 million for developmental projects to mark its 65th anniversary.
This is contained in a statement signed on Tuesday by Mr Poroye Peter Olowu, the national Secretary of the Old Students Association and Anniversary Celebration Committee of SMC, Okitipupa.
He said that the 65th years of excellence and anniversary of the school is scheduled to hold from Nov. 28 to Nov. 30 at the Stella Maris College.
Olowu added that the three-day celebration would feature a public lecture, cultural performances, sports activities, award presentations, and a grand homecoming reunion of alumni from across Nigeria and around the world.
According to the statement, Stella Maris College Okitipupa will celebrate its 65th anniversary from Nov. 28th to 30th, marking six and a half decades of academic excellence, discipline, leadership, and character formation.
"The three-day celebration will feature a public lecture, cultural performances, sports activities, award presentations, and a grand homecoming reunion of alumni from across Nigeria and around the world.
"A major highlight of the anniversary is the commissioning of several Stella Maris Legacy Projects, the launch of the N150 million Infrastructural Renewal Initiative, and the awards ceremony honouring distinguished alumni, staff, and partners.
"These initiatives represent a significant investment in the future and a milestone moment in the history of SMC, aimed at transforming facilities, strengthening classroom blocks, and enhancing the school’s learning environment.
"The Anniversary Celebration Committee described the 65th Anniversary as: A moment to celebrate our heritage, honour our past, and reaffirm our commitment to nurturing the next generation of leaders.
"All alumni, partners, parents, and well-wishers are warmly invited to participate in this landmark celebration," the statement read. (NAN).
