Chief Mathew Ogunyeye Receives MobaOrder of Merit Tomorrow


The Circular Quay Hotel, Osun Ekiti, will be set agog tomorrow Saturday 27 December 2025 as the Bobajiro of Igogo Ekiti, Chief Mathew Ogunyeye, will be conferred with the prestigious Moba Order of Merit (MOM) in recognition of his outstanding contributions to peace, unity and development in Mobaland. 

He will also be inducted into the Moba Hall of Fame at the conferment ceremony scheduled for 12 noon prompt, alongside three other  illustrious sons of Mobaland.

The honour is being conferred by the Moba Unity and Development Association Inc. (MUDA) on behalf of its Chairman and Board of Trustees. Following the conferment, Chief Ogunyeye will be entitled to use the post-nominal title MOM (Moba Order of Merit) after his name.

In a letter of notification and message of congratulation signed by the moderator of the programme, Yinka Awoyinka, Esq., the association expressed confidence that Ogunyeye and other awardees will continue thier impactful service to Mobaland and the society at large.
MUDA, a coalition of people from all constituent towns in Moba, serves as a platform to foster unity, understanding and accelerated development across the local government area.

Ogunyeye - an entrepreneur, infotech engineer and former CEO of Toptech Engineering Company in Lagos, has, over the years, been known for his laudable development initiatives, not only in Igogo Ekiti - his hometown, but across different communities in the state and beyond. 

As a philanthropist, he has touched many lives, especially the indigents and other less privileged, who have benefited from his kind hearted benevolence for education and welfare purposes. 

Other awardees, drawn from Otun Ekiti, Osun Ekiti and Erinmope Ekiti are an outstanding accountant, administrator and former Commissioner for Finance in Ekiti State, Elder Samuel Olayemi Kayode, an outstanding jurist, emblem of faith and trail blazer in Moba Unity, Hon. Justice Olusegun Ogunyemi and Prince Adebowale Oyedeji, who is being honoured as an outstanding banker and role model with a great penchant for development in Mobaland. 

Since the nomination was made public, Ogunyeye has received countless goodwill and congratulatory messages within the community, social and business circles across the globe, all of which sang his praises and described him as a worthy ambassador of his community, who deserves every honour for what he has used his career and connection to attract to the area. 

In his reaction, the chief acknowledged the organisers of the award and promised to continue to do his best, not for personal gains, but for the benefit of humanity, saying the greatest labour is that which is expended for the good of others and the benefit of the society at large.
