No fewer than 16 new member executives of the Niger Delta Youth Movement (NDYM), Ondo State Chapter, has been formally inaugurated on Saturday at a well-attended ceremony held in Akure, Ondo State capital.
This is contained in a statement jointly signed by Arc. Ibikunle Ibinuolapo Dennis and Mr Jire Goodluck Akinyemi, the newly inaugurated NDYM Chairman and General Secretary, respectively which was made available to newsmen in Akure.
The inauguration marked a defining moment in the history of the Movement in Ondo State, symbolizing the resolve of Niger Delta youths to strengthen unity, uphold democratic values, and advance the collective socio-economic interests of oil-producing communities across the state.
In their separate addresses, Prince Comrade Pereboti Boboye, the National Vice Chairman and Comrade Joshua Osamuyi Ediagbonya, the National Secretary, strongly reaffirmed the supremacy of the democratic will of the Niger Delta youths in Ondo State.
They unequivocally condemned the recent attempt by the National President of the Movement to undermine this democratic decision, by allegedly seeking to accord legitimacy to a group of imposters who attempted to hijack the structure of the NDYM in Ondo State through the back door.
They also stressed that such actions run contrary to the constitution, ideals, and founding principles of the Movement, emphasizing that NDYM must remain a people-driven organization where leadership emerges through transparent, credible, and widely accepted processes.
According to the national officers, we warn against any form of imposition, manipulation, or recognition of faceless groups, because the unity and integrity of the Movement must never be sacrificed.
"We urge members of the newly inaugurated Ondo State Chapter to remain resolute, law-abiding, and focused, as we assure you all of the support of the national leadership in defending due process, internal democracy, and the collective interest of Niger Delta youths," they added.
Meanwhile, the National Chairman, Board of Trustees, HRM Oba Obafemi Ogbaro, the Odoka of Obe Ogbaro in his royal and fatherly counsel, charged the chapter to pursue peaceful engagement, constructive advocacy, and responsible leadership, while working collaboratively with government and relevant stakeholders to foster development in the Niger Delta areas of Ondo State.
The inauguration ceremony was marked by solidarity, renewed commitment to the vision of NDYM, and a collective pledge to uphold unity, democracy, and purposeful youth leadership in Ondo State.
The Niger Delta Youth Movement remained steadfast in its mission to serve as a credible voice for Niger Delta youths and a platform for sustainable development and positive transformation across the region.
The newly inaugurated NDYM executives are: Ebun Ojagbomo as Vice Chairman, Ebiniyi Godwin as PRO, Olamide Ikuyomininu as Financial Secretary, Aiyetimiyi Babalola.as Organizing Secretary, James Tamorahe Moemi as Welfare Officer and Ogele Ojo as Welfare Officer,
Others are: Ogungbeje Samuel as Legal Adviser, Iwanefun Sunday as Treasurer, Onikan Kehinde as woman leader, Olatuga Adebola as Ass General Secretary, Oyedele Tomisin as Ass. Financial Secretary, Francis Obirilagha as Provost II, Omowunmi Orimisan Felix as Ass Welfare and Toso Tibiebi as PRO II.
The event was graced by top national officers of the Movement, notably the National Vice Chairman, the National Secretary, the National Chairman, Board of Trustees, Prince Adeola Ikuesan, National Provost and Prince Bayo Ehinmowo- National Ass Financial Secretary among others.
