Building Collapse Injures Seven in Akure, Ondo State Capital.
Seven people have been injured after a building under construction collapsed beside the former Secretariat of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the Cathedral area in Akure, the capital city of Ondo State.
The state Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Hon. Sunday Olajide who addressed the media at the scene, said an investigation will be launched to uncover both the immediate and long-term causes of the incident.
Olajide also issued a stern warning to developers in the state about the use of substandard building materials, urging them to prioritize the safety of residents.
He called on developers to always secure the necessary permits and approvals before commencing construction projects.
In the meantime, the Ondo State Government has sealed off the construction site and vowed to take further action based on the outcome of the investigation.
