Muhammad Sani Bello, a former Director-General of Senator Uba Sani's Campaign Council and ex-Kaduna Information Commissioner, has resigned from the All Progressives Congress (APC) and joined the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
Bello announced his decision in a January 7, 2026, letter to the APC chairman in Dogarawa Ward, Kaduna State
According to him, "I wish to inform you of my decision to withdraw my membership of the APC with immediate effect," Bello stated, expressing gratitude for the party's support during his tenure.
The move comes as the ADC prepares for the 2027 general election, appointing Bello to its Constitution Review Committee
Bello, a close ally of former Kaduna State governor Nasir El-Rufai had previously served as Director-General of Uba Sani's 2023 governorship campaign and Kaduna State Information Commissioner.
It will be recalled that, he defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to APC in 2018, citing mistrust and disagreements with PDP leadership
At the time, he announced his decision to join the APC at a news conference in Kaduna, explaining that he had consulted widely with different political parties before making his choice.
The News Agency of Nigeria reported that Bello had dumped the PDP on November 12, citing what he described as persistent mistrust between him and the state leadership of the party, as well as its governorship candidate, Isa Ashiru.
