The SSA on Agric and Agribusiness, Hon Rotimi Wemimo Akinsola has launched over 11,000 heactres Land Banking Initiative at Atijere Community of Ondo State.
The SSA while receiving the leaders of the community on Thursday 5th March 2026 at his office in Akure said the strategic meeting with the Atijere Community Leaders was purposely on the proposed Land Banking initiative in the community.
In the meeting, the SSA gave a brief introduction to the Land Banking programme, explaining how the initiative would transform the community through employment opportunities, economic exposure, and value enhancement of their land assets.
His words: “This Land Banking Initiative, first of its kind in the history of Ondo State was conceived to transform Atijere Community, with ripple effect on employment generation, economic exposure, value enhance of your land assets among others benefits to the people of Ondo State”.
Speaking, the leaders of the Atijere Community expressed their satisfaction with the initiative and affirmed their readiness to partner with the SSA for the overall development and betterment of the Atijere Community.
It could be recalled that, since Hon Wemimo appointment by Governor Aiyedatiwa to oversee the Agric and Agribusiness sector, he has come up with different initiatives that have boosted the Agricultural Sector and economy of the State.
In attendance at the meeting were Engr. Omosule Edema representing Molokun of Atijere Kingdom, Omotomiye Benjamin stands for Atijere Development Association among others representatives of the community.
