The Sagamu Local Government Health Authority, through its Pharmacy Unit, is set to honour a distinguished healthcare professional, Pharm. Tech. (Mrs.) Mary Iyabo Ogunusi during a special Pen Down Ceremony scheduled to hold on June 30, 2026, in Sagamu, Ogun State.
Mrs. Mary Iyabo Ogunusi, a Chief Pharmacy Technician, will officially bow out of active service after years of dedicated commitment to healthcare delivery and pharmaceutical services within the local government health system.
The event, which is expected to attract healthcare professionals, government officials, family members, friends, and well-wishers, will take place at the Legacy Primary Health Centre (PHC), Sagamu, Ogun State, beginning at 12 noon.
Newsline NG gathered that the ceremony is aimed at celebrating the remarkable contributions of the retiring pharmacy technician, whose years of service have positively impacted patient care and strengthened pharmaceutical practice within the local government health sector.
A source from the Sagamu Local Government Health Authority Pharmacy Unit, who spoke with our correspondent, described Mrs. Iyabo as a committed and experienced health worker whose professionalism, dedication, and mentorship have inspired many younger colleagues in the healthcare profession.
The source further noted that the Pen Down Ceremony would provide an opportunity for colleagues and associates to appreciate her unwavering service, sacrifice, and contributions to the growth of the health sector in Ogun State.
"The event is expected to feature goodwill messages, tributes from colleagues and associates, presentation of gifts, entertainment, and reflections on the celebrant’s career journey and achievements in public health service.
However, Healthcare stakeholders in the area who spoke with our correspondent commended the initiative, describing it as a deserving honour for a professional who has devoted a significant part of her life to improving healthcare delivery at the grassroots level.
