Ogogo Not Soliciting Funds, Children Warn Against Fraudsters

The children of veteran Nollywood actor, Babatunde Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, have warned members of the public against individuals soliciting or collecting money in the actor’s name.

The family, in a statement, clarified that Ogogo is not soliciting funds from the public, urging Nigerians, fans and well-wishers to be wary of anyone claiming to be raising money on behalf of the actor.

According to the family, such individuals are not authorised to solicit or collect funds in Ogogo’s name.

The warning was issued as the actor continues to receive an outpouring of prayers, goodwill and support from Nigerians, fans and colleagues within and outside the entertainment industry.

The family urged members of the public to exercise caution and verify any fundraising appeal purportedly connected to the actor before making any financial commitment.

“We would also like to use this opportunity to inform the general public that Babatunde Taiwo Hassan Ogogo is not soliciting for funds from the public.

“Please be cautious of anyone requesting or collecting money in his name. Such individuals are not authorised to do so,” the statement said.

The children also expressed appreciation to Nigerians and fans across the world for the overwhelming show of love, prayers, support and goodwill extended to their father during the period.

They particularly acknowledged churches, Muslim faithful, traditionalists, news channels, bloggers and colleagues in the entertainment industry for their continued prayers, concern and solidarity.

The family said the various expressions of love and kindness had not gone unnoticed, adding that they remained deeply grateful to everyone who had reached out to them in one way or another.
