A 26-year-old security guard, identified as Godwin Dauda, has been arrested by the police in Niger State over the alleged rape and death of an 11-year-old girl, Christabel Albert.
The incident reportedly occurred in Suleja, Niger State, where Dauda was attached to an Apostolic Church as a security operative.
According to reports, the suspect allegedly fled the area after the incident and travelled to Kuje in the Federal Capital Territory in an attempt to evade arrest.
The victim’s body was reportedly discovered inside a well within the church premises, prompting police authorities to launch an investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death.
Dauda was subsequently arrested by the police and is currently assisting investigators with information concerning the incident.
The case has sparked concern among residents, while police authorities are expected to conduct further investigations to establish the full circumstances surrounding the death of the minor.
The remains of the deceased have reportedly been recovered as investigations continue.
