A prominent businessman in Ondo Town, Ondo State, Akinbolusere Kayode, popularly known as Tolufe, and owner of the popular Esther Estate, has reportedly died in a suspected suicide incident.
Tolufe was said to have died on Thursday, October 29, 2026, although the circumstances surrounding his reported death remained unclear as of the time of filing this report.
Before his reported death, the businessman allegedly recorded an emotional video in which he spoke about his family, business challenges and plans to bequeath his properties to his wife and three children.
In the video, sighted by Newsline NG Tolufe reportedly stated that his decision concerning his properties was voluntary, insisting that nobody forced him or subjected him to any form of pressure.
He also spoke about difficulties affecting his business operations, revealing that three machines connected to his enterprise had developed faults, including two that reportedly broke down on the morning of the recording.
Reflecting on his entrepreneurial journey, the businessman maintained that he built his business from humble beginnings without engaging in illegal or questionable activities.
A significant part of the video was devoted to his wife, Akinbolusere Esther Adenike, whom he described as a supportive partner who stood by him through difficult times.
He reportedly expressed regret over the way he had treated her, taking responsibility for the challenges in their relationship and acknowledging her sacrifices throughout their journey together.
Tolufe recalled how his wife supported him from his early days as a barber and contributed to his progress towards financial stability.
He also mentioned his three children, Oluwafemi, Toluwani and Daniel, while stating his intention to leave his properties and accumulated wealth to his wife and children.
The reported incident has drawn attention to the businessman’s final video, in which he spoke about his family, business difficulties and the legacy he intended to leave behind.
However, the circumstances surrounding his reported death have yet to be independently established.
