The Oyo State Government has been hit by the resignation of two key officials in its budget and economic planning department, following their decision to quit the administration of Governor Seyi Makinde.
The officials, Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Ayobami Oluwaseun Ojo, and the governor’s Special Adviser on Budget and Economic Planning, Simeon Adegbola Oyeleke, submitted their resignation letters on Monday.
Both officials reportedly stated that their resignations would take immediate effect, bringing their respective appointments to an end.
While Ojo did not disclose the reason for his resignation, Oyeleke reportedly cited dissatisfaction with the working conditions within the administration.
The former special adviser explained that the prevailing circumstances had made it difficult for him to meet expectations and fulfil the aspirations of the people he represented.
Despite their decision to leave the government, both officials expressed appreciation to Governor Makinde for the opportunity to serve in his administration.
Their departures have left two key positions within the state's budget and economic planning structure vacant, with no immediate announcement regarding their replacements.
Meanwhile, the circumstances surrounding Ojo's resignation remain unclear, as he did not provide any reason for his decision to step down.
