Popular Nigerian comedian and gospel minister, Woli Arole, has called on members of the public to stop the controversy surrounding the burial of late gospel singer, Olayemi Bayonile Bolaji, popularly known as Toluwanisings, and allow his family to lay him to rest peacefully.
Woli Arole made the appeal in a video on his official Facebook page sighted by Newsline NG condemning what he described as the inappropriate use of the late singer’s name for social media content, noting that the attention being given to the circumstances surrounding his death and burial was troubling.
The comedian expressed concern that many people who had not shown sufficient interest in Toluwanising’s music while he was alive were now actively participating in online discussions about his burial.
He described the development as shameful, questioning why the singer’s name had become a subject of widespread social media debate following his death.
“The Lord has instructed me to inform the general public that Toluwanising must quickly be given a befitting burial,” Woli Arole said in his message.
He further criticised individuals allegedly using the controversy surrounding the late singer to create online content, urging them to discontinue such activities and show respect for the deceased and his family.
According to him, the priority should be to allow Toluwasing’s relatives to make the necessary burial arrangements without undue interference or the pressure of public opinion.
Woli Arole also appealed to social media users to exercise restraint and refrain from turning the singer’s death into an avenue for online engagement, stressing the need to respect the family’s privacy during their period of mourning.
The appeal comes amid public discussions over the burial arrangements for the late gospel singer, with reports indicating disagreements over his final resting place.
The comedian’s intervention adds to calls for calm as the controversy continues to attract attention on social media.
He urged members of the public to put an end to the online arguments and allow the family to give the late singer a peaceful and befitting burial.
