Inferno raze down properties in Ondo State

As everyone is celebrating easter today,  some residents of Akungba Akoko in Ondo State may not speak of Happy Easter, as a fierce inferno completely  razed down their property before dawn. 



We learnt that the midnight fire gutted  shops anddestroyed valuables of immeasurable proportion.

The burnt vehicle spare parts and grocery shops belonged to traders in Okele quarters.

According to a sorrowful source,  the cause of the fire remains unknown as the owners of the shop were not present when the incident took place.


However, power surge may not be unconnected, said an eyewitness.

One of the owners of the burnt shops, Emmanuel Ngozi Chukwu, lamented losing goods worth thousands of Naira.

He bemoans his I'll fate and was downcast: "where do I pick up from now? I wish well wishers and the Government could come to our aid."

A community leader, The Olori of Okele,  High Chief Adesegunota Samuel, seized the opportunity to appeal to the State Government to establish a fire station in Akungba, a fast growing University town with increasing population and commerce.
