Palliatives items rejected in Ondo

Residents of Ondo, the headquarters of the Ondo West Local Government Area of Ondo State has reportedly turn down the palliative items distributed in the area
It was learnt from a 55 seconds video which had gone viral on the social media that the aggrieved people ordered the vehicles that brought the palliative items, to the Oba Adesanoye Civic Center, to leave the scene.
While some of the people in the video were shouting Ole, Ole ! ( thiefs, thieves! ). Shortly after, the vehicles left the place.
A reliable source told our correspondent that the rejection was as a result of the alleged failure of the team leader who brought the items and Ondo State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Mrs Lola Fagbemi, to carry the community leaders of the town along, when the pallatives were brought to the town.

The source said, “Mrs Fagbemi was in charge of the distribution of the palliatives but when they brought them to the town, they did not inform the Kabiyesi, nor the council chairman nor other leaders in the community.
“So this infuriated the people and they asked them to go away with the items because there would not be objectivity in the distribution if the community leaders were not carried along.”
Another source said the people of the community rejected the items because the chairman of the local government, Mr Adewale Adelakun, was not carried along , which was against the instruction of the governor.
