The clash between youths suspected to be supporters of the All Progressives Congress and the Peoples Democratic Party has thrown residents of Oba Nla, Oba Adesida, Arakale and Oja Oba areas of Akure into confusion.
Residents and passers-by of these affected areas scampered for safety.
Vehicular movement was halted during the clash for several minutes
The clash is coming five days to the governorship election in the state.
Eye witnesses told Thenewstrack that many people were seriously injured the clash.
Trouble started late Saturday evening at Obanla Junction, Oba Adesida Road when one of the supporters of APC was allegedly beaten by that of PDP.
It was gathered that APC members carried out a reprisal attack on Sunday morning.
The incident happened a a few meters away from ‘A’ Division Police Station, Akure
