A distinguished Senator representing Ondo Central in the Upper Legislative Chamber of the National Assembly, Senator Ayo Akinyelure has promised to assist Idanre Local Government in the forthcoming Census program which will take place before the end of the year.
Akinyelure, while speaking through his SA on Media and Strategy, Mr Charles Akinwon today at Owa's palace in stakeholders meeting stated that it is most unfortunate that some Local Government Areas which are not densely populated like Idanre are enjoying more dividends of democracy simply because they claimed to have more inhabitants than Idanre.
"Idanre had made the mistake in the past because of lack of sensitisation and enough publicity and I believe we should not get it wrong this time around as this is another opportunity", Akinyelure said.
Earlier, the Ondo State Director, National Population Commission (NPC), Mr. Falusi Tubosun, had told the gathering that, "Demarcation will be done Ward by Ward to enable Counsellors or leaders know their boundaries".
The NPC boss further said what the Commission needs from the Local Government is mobilisation of their people, assisting the NPC officials with accomodations, transportation and feeding, among others.
Akinyelure said he was ready to assist Idanre Local Government to get the desired enumeration census whenever the programme commences in the Local Government.
