ONDO: WE SHALL COMPLEMENT YOUR OPERATIONS, FEDERAL FIRE SERVICE ASSURES NYSC

The Controller, Federal Fire Service, Ondo State Command, Mr. Cletus Makperr has assured the management of NYSC that his organisation will continue to complement the operations of the Scheme.

The Controller gave the assurance on Saturday when he paid working visit to the NYSC Ondo State Coordinator, Mrs. Victoria Nnenna Ani at the Permanent Orientation Camp, Ikare-Akoko.

Mr. Makperr during the visit disclosed that the Controller General of the Federal Fire Service has given directive to the State Command to liaise with the NYSC management and workout modalities on how the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp would be decontaminated and fumigated to further reduce the impact of Coronavirus pandemic.

The Fire Service Chief said that the collaboration with NYSC which gave birth to his officers coming for orientation courses will continue to be sustained.

"I want to let you know that my Command will continue to give adequate and comprehensive training to corps members and the entire camp community about fire safety measures and prevention and we shall always give our best.

"In all honesty, if you give us the entire three weeks to give various trainings and lectures on fire safety, we would not cover the whole training modules but we shall confine ourselves to the time allotted in the time table of activities".

He promised to assist the Scheme with more officers and offer technical support whenever the NYSC made the request along that line.

Responding, the State Coordinator, Mrs. Victoria Nnenna Ani appreciated the Controller for releasing quality and dedicated officers to NYSC for the ongoing orientation course.

"I must tell you how impressed I was when your officers gave the lecture on Fire Safety and Prevention. The whole camp community stood still and the corps members rated the lecture very high to the point that those who looked tired before the commencement of the lecture suddenly became active and anxious to learn more".

"The applause that greeted the lecture from the corps members and camp officials in the Multipurpose Hall indicated that they want more practical demonstration which majority of them believed is more beneficial to them than anything else".

"I am confident that sensitisation and practical demonstration received will go a long way to assist individuals to know how to combat any fire incidence in case of emergency or unforeseen circumstances" she said.

Mrs. Ani said that she would want to see the synergy between the two agencies deepen so that more technical support that is beneficial to corps members and staff alike would be made available whenever request is made.

The State Coordinator thanked the Controller and his team for visiting her and she promised to return the visit when she returns to the state capital, Akure after the orientation course.
