It was a scenario filled with seventh heaven in Federal University Oye Ekiti ( FUOYE) today, as the Vice Chancellor granted admission slots to the biological offsprings of the institution's employees.
The gesture which is the first since inception of the university, further reinforced the commitment of the administration to improve welfare and working conditions of staff.
According to a memo dated Monday, April 12, 2021 signed by the Academic Affairs Officer, Mr Babatope S. Ademiloye, this decision was carefully taken by the Vice Chancellor, Prof Abayomi Sunday Fasina after a recommendation from the management that the institution should give consideration to the admission of qualified biological children of members of Staff.
The memo directed University Staff whose biological children are looking for admission to visit the Academic Affairs Office to fill request form.
Reacting to the development, some members of Staff who spoke to FUOYEnews said that the new administration is a new dawn as they never expected this kind of gesture, noting that it has never happened in the ten years of FUOYE existence.
Some said they are willing to work harder, re-dedicate themselves the vision of the administration so long it makes Staff and Students' welfare a priority.
Others prayed to God to continue to guide and protect the Vice Chancellor against detractors.
