As part of efforts to enhance town relationship, the Vice-Chancellor, Federal University Oye-Ekiti, Professor Abayomi Sunday Fasina has paid homage to prominent Royal Father, The Ewi of Ado, Oba (Dr) Rufus Adeyemo Adejugbe Aladesanmi III CON, JP at the palace.
Speaking at the Palace of Ewi today, the vice chancellor, Professor Abayomi Sunday Fasina appreciated the paramount ruler for his presence during his inauguration ceremony and also his consistent and constant support since his emergence as the vice chancellor, Federal University Oye Ekiti.
"The reason why we are here is to pay homage to you and also seek for your support for the university, we are ready to partner with Ado-Ekiti in order to add to the development of this town" the Professor of Soil said.
Reacting, The Ewi of Ado, Oba (Dr) Rufus Adeyemo Adejugbe Aladesanmi III (CON, JP) thank God for the appointment of Professor Fasna as the Vice-chancellor, Federal University Oye-Ekiti. " we thank God for chosing you adding that the whole exercise followed due process in the appointment of a new vice chancellor for our dear university, it takes the grace of God for the best to emerge. I thank God you emerged as the Vice chancellor of the university" the royal father said.
" I want to appeal to the management and staff of the university to accord all necessary support for the new vice chancellor in order to have a successful tenure in office adding that a tree does not make a forest, So, I want to appeal to all, to cooperate with Professor Abayomi Fasina" the Ewi further said.
The Paramount ruler Oba Adejugbe who is concurrently the Chancellor of Tafawa Balewa University Bauchi and Odumegwu Ojukwu University,Awka urged the vice chancellor and his team to be fast in action as time wait for no one, ' there is no time to play, politicking, it is a time for serious business because within a twinkle of an eye five years single tenure is over"
The First class traditional ruler used the opportunity to thank the Vice chancellor for the assistance accorded the palace while he was the chairman, admission committee of the university. You really did well. I thank you for that"
