Following the crisis that impede the commencement of the Second Semester for the unconcluded 2020/2021 Academic Session,  the Management of Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo, Ondo State (RUGIPO) has rescheduled the date for Friday, 29th of October, 2021 and academic activities would commence on Monday, 1st of November, 2021.

This new development was made known in a Circular Letter signed and released by the institution's Director of Academic Affairs, Gbenga Gbemiluyi on behalf of the school Registrar on Wednesday

According to the letter, students should resume for the semester on Friday, 29th of October, 2021 while academic activities would regain normalcy on Monday, 1st of November, 2021 respectively.

He further stated that all students who are currently in the Halls of Residence on campus were charged to vacate their residence immediately and stay away till the new resumption day.

However, students were advised to strictly comply with the new resumption date.

Newsline NG gathered that, the Deputy Rector (Academics), Engr. Lawson, earlier this week in a telephone interview with newsmen, revealed that a meeting would be held by the management alongside other concerned bodies between today, Wednesday, 20th of October, 2021 and tommorow, Thursday, 21st of October, 202, in order to resolve issues looming in the institution so that the school activities may regain normalcy.

It will be recalled that the Non-academic Staff Union(NASU) and the Senior Staff Association of Nigeria Polytechnic(SSANIP), Rugipo Chapter embarked on an indefinite strike last Friday

NASU and (SSANIP) are yet to respond to this new development as at press time.
