Corps members have been charged to build on their certificate by acquiring a skill.
Chief Mrs Uzo Rita Akinlade gave this charge in her motivational lecture to 2021 Batch C Stream two corps members at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp Iseyin, Oyo State.
She advised them to pay serious attention to Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development programme (SAED) , describing it as a veritable tool for self development, sustenance and job creation.
She asked them to identify their area of strength and relative advantage in choosing a skill.
Mrs. Akinlade while giving them tips for determination urged them to engage in Patience, Passion and Prayers.
She further implored the corps members to imbibe the spirit of patriotism,loyalty and discipline in and outside the camp.
The erstwhile Director enjoined them to promote the sustenance of the NYSC Scheme, by transmitting the objectives and values of the scheme to their host communities.
She also encouraged the corps members to respect the sensibilities of their various host communities and be guided in their utterances and actions.
Akinlade equally admonished them to be agents of development by adding value to their host communities.She informed them of the need to be security conscious and avoid moving about especially at night.
She also warned corps members against unauthorized journeys and truancy as these would earn them extension of service or remobilization as the case may be.
The Retired Director, emphasized on obedience to constituted authority and tolerance for others while in camp and during the rest of their service year.
While welcoming the Retired Director, the NYSC Oyo State Coordinator, Mrs Grace Ogbuogebe expressed her appreciation to the Retired Director, Chief Mrs Rita Uzo Akinlade for her efforts to inspire and motivate this set of young graduates despite her busy schedule.
She assured her that the corps members would put into practice whatever they have been able to learn from her lecture.
