FUTA: Children, Guidance and counseling unit hold memorial lecture to honor slain Deputy Registrar


It's exactly a year ago that the former deputy registrar, students affairs of the Federal university of technology, Akure, late Dr Amos Emiloju Arijesuyo was murdered inside his vehicle along ife-ilesha-Akure road by yet to be identified gunmen.

The death of Pastor  Dr. Arijesuyo who was the first  counselor in Futa shook ondo state and the entire nation as many notable Nigerians called out the Federal Government on the urgent need to reposition its security agencies and safeguard lives Department Nigerians from needless death in the hands of Fulani herdsmem,bandits,kidnappers and Boko harm.

And undeterred by the ugly event, the children of the late scholar in conjunction with the guidance and counseling unit of the student affairs division, Futa held a memorial lecture in honor of the deceased.

The lecture which it's topic focused on using counseling as a means of achieving academic excellence was delivered Prof.  Joyce ogunsanmi from ekiti state university, Ado ekiti.

Also, the children have put up a yearly five hundred thousand naira scholarship for students of tertiary institutions under the Amos Emiloju Arijesuyo legacy foundation.

In commemoration of the madien edition of the foundation's activities, selected beneficiaries of the scholarship awards who are students of futa and  the Christ Apostolic  church,glory of God Assembly from other institutions were presented with cash prizes.


To round off the one year remembrance,  a memorial service and Thanksgiving was held at the  CAC glory of God where the immediate family members of late Dr.Amos Arijesuyo were joined by friends and well wishers to appreciate God for the journey so far.

His eldest son, Biodun Arijesuyo said the idea behind the Amos Emiloju Arijesuyo legacy foundation is to continue the good works of the slain revered Counselor and humanitarian.

A close friend of over forty years, pastor and associate professor Mayowa Owoyemi,who applauded the initiative tasked the children to keep fire of God's work burning .
