Oyo state Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde has said that the new Olubadan will be announced next week Monday.
He stated this in an address at the final burial ceremony of the Late Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Saliu Adetunji held at the liberty stadium, Ibadan.
The governor who said the old tradition of king making in ibadanland had been restored said he had received a letter to that effect from the Olubadan in council.
He commended the stakeholders in the Olubadan kingship process for allowing peace to reign in the appointment of the new olubadan .
In an interview the Ooni of Ife, His Imperial Magesty, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, represented by the Asoyan of Ile Isoya, in Ife Kingdom, Oba Adebanjo Adedini said the late monarch was an embodiment of wisdom who always worked towards the development of upcoming traditional rulers.
Special Adviser to Oyo Governor on community relations, Mr Femi Josiah and the wife of a former governor of oyo state, Chief Mrs Mutiat Ladoja described late Oba Adetunji as an exceptional and detribalised Nigerian who loved everyone that he came across .
