"Explore the skills acquired during your service year", Gov Makinde tells Oyo outgoing corps members



The Executive Governor of Oyo State , His  Excellency Seyi Makinde has advised 2021 Batch ‘A’ Stream 2  Corps members to continue exploring the skills learnt under Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship  Development program (SAED) in the course of their service year. 

The advice came during the Passing out Parade of outgoing corps members of the 2021 Batch ' A' (Stream ll) service year, held at  Lekan Salami Stadium Adamasingba, Ibadan Oyo State. 

Makinde said, “Since the Government cannot provide jobs for the large number of graduates, you should therefore resolve in your mind to try your hands on productive ventures as a means of earning a decent living in the society” said the Governor. 


Representing the Executive Governor, the Honourable Commissioner,Youths and Sports Hon. Seun Fakorede commended the outgoing corps members on their indelible legacies through the Community Development Service projects embarked upon during the service year. 

"This has brought a great transformation to our nation and Oyo State in particular."

Earlier in her remarks, the National Youth Service Corps Oyo State Coordinator, Mrs Grace Ogbuogebe implored the corps members  to remain focused as they work diligently in their chosen career. 


She further charged them not to get involved in fraudulent practices in their quest for wealth. Rather they should as a  major stronghold, be committed towards the wheel of progress of our great nation. 

She also reiterated that the Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship  Development Programme by the NYSC is a very good measure towards reducing the alarming rate of unemployment.


Highlights of the event was the parade and the distribution of Certificate of National Service to deserving corps members.

Newsline NG however gathered that a total number of 4,754 corps members passed out of the 2021 Batch ' A' (Stream II) in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital
