Nigerian Institute of Quantity Surveyors visits Nysc in Oyo, seeks partnership

The Oyo State Chapter of the Nigerian Institute of Quantity Surveyors has sought partnership with the National Youth Service Corps to check quackery and provide qualified professionals with the latest technological tools necessary to practice and be at par with international best practices. 

The Chairman of the Chapter, Qs. Ogunjimi Olufisayo (MNIQS),led other Executive officers of the chapter on a courtesy visit to the NYSC Oyo State Coordinator. 

He said the visit is in line with the Institute’s core vision of advocating best practices in construction projects. 

He requested for cooperation between the professional body and NYSC that will give room for corps members who studied Quantity Surveying to be posted to organisations where they can train on the job.


In her response, Mrs Grace Ogbuogebe, decried the adverse effects of quackery especially as it affects the quality of constructions and integrity of professionals. 

She assured of NYSC’s readiness to support the Institute in developing and promoting the unique and distinctive competencies of the profession.

Ogbuogebe equally promised them that they would be invited to camp  for sensitization of corps members and staff on the need to engage professionals while embarking on a building project.


Highlight of the event was the presentation of NYSC publications by the State Coordinator to the Chairman Oyo State Chapter of the Nigerian Institute of Quantity Surveyors .
