Nysc: Mrs Kehinde Adeyemi Visits Oyo State coord, harps on productivity

The Zonal Coordinator,Oyo/Ogun National Productivity Centre (NPC),Mrs Kehinde Adeyemi,has stated that productivity is the key indicator of the growth of any nation.

She made the assertion during a courtesy visit to the NYSC Oyo State Coordinator, Mrs Grace Ogbuogebe.

She said their core mandate is productivity and quality assurance. She added that they mentor people to be creative and be resourceful thereby building capacity for  productivity. 

Mrs Adeyemi who said that  NYSC has been identified by its commitment to   productivity enhancement expressed the readiness of the Centre to improve on its synergy with NYSC towards achieving its core mandate.

Speaking further, the NPC Coordinator said the Centre carries out its mandate through Consultancy and Business Development, International Certification, Capacity Building, Conferences, Productivity Coaching and Mentoring, Trainings, Research; Productivity Measurement among others as well as celebration of National Productivity Day (NPD) and conferment of National Productivity Order of Merit Award (NPOMA) to deserving individuals in order to recognize excellence in corporate and individual outputs and services.

She assured the NYSC that the Centre is ready to deploy its cutting edge productivity improvement tools and techniques to support the NYSC to continue contributing to the accelerated growth of the nation’s economy and promoting national unity and integration.


Responding, the Oyo State NYSC Coordinator, Mrs Grace Ogbuogebe, lauded the activities of NPC which she described as one of the NYSC’s partners in the realization of its achievements.

She also said that NYSC makes Corps Members pass through various programmes to ensure they add value to their lives. She mentioned the Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneuship Development programme wherein Corps Members are made to learn one skill or the other for them to be self reliant. 

The State Coordinator stated that the NYSC and NPC share the same vision of building efficiency and productivity in people especially the Youth that are coming up. 

According to her, it is important for the two agencies to synergize  especially in areas that will improve staff output and the productivity of corps members.


At the end of the visit Mrs Grace Ogbuogebe of the National Youth Service Corps Oyo State presented NYSC publications to the Zonal Coordinator NPC, Mrs kehinde Adeyemi.
