The National Youth Service Corps Oyo State Coordinator, Mrs Grace Ogbuogebe has stated that the 2021 Batch C Stream one outgoing corps members are the hope of tomorrow.
She said they have been prepared during their service year to take up leadership roles and they should not come short of the expectation and confidence reposed in them.
She made the statement while monitoring the 2021 Batch ‘C’ Stream 1 Passing Out Programme held at Islamic High School, Basorun, Ibadan.
Delivering the Farewell Address at the low key Passing Out Programme,the State Coordinator congratulated the 4,047outgoing Corps members for the successful completion of their service year and also commended them for contributing their quota to nation building at their various Places of Assignment.
She encouraged them to seize the opportunity of the Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) Programme, an initiative of the NYSC in ensuring Corps members are self reliant, to come up with innovations that will grow the country’s economy and equally make them employers of labour after their Service year.
She stressed that the Outgoing Corps members still have the opportunity to register and learn any skills they choose to improve upon at the SAED Training Centre established at Iyaganku in Ibadan even after their Passing Out Programme for the advancement of their creativity and passion as graduate youth of the country.
She equally urged them to look for legitimate ways for their means of livelihood and build a country free of corruption, oil theft, kidnapping, religious bigotry and tribalism.
She therefore implored them to be good ambassadors of their families, the noble NYSC Scheme and the nation at large.
The State Coordinator thereafter did the Sample presentation of Certificate of National Service to corps members.
