It was an event filled with pomp and pageantry as Southwest Heralds Magazine holds its annual public lecture and award event on Sunday 13th November 2022
The epoch making event was held at the at International Training Centre,Federal College of Agriculture, Akure, Ondo State.
The Provost of college, Dr Akinyemi Fadiyimu, while speaking on the topic, Setting the post 2023 Socio-economic agenda :imperatives of a vibrant agricultural industry for job creation and food security urges the government both at the state and federal level to see agricultural as a veritable tool so solving joblessness and food security.
The event took place under the Distinguished Chairmanship of HRH,Oba Amb Rev Luyi Rotimi, FCA London while Governor of Ondo State, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu was represented by the director of Information services of Ministry of Information,Mr Olanrewaju Adenaowoola who pointed it out that Akeredolu led government has been doing tremendous job in the area of Agriculture in order to banish poverty by creating employment and improving on food security.
At the occasion, some important personalities who were honored included, Prof Edward Olanipekun, the Vice Chancellor of Ekiti State University with the award of Southwest Outstanding Vice Chancellor, Pastor Stephen Aworere, the Director of Budget,Ondo State with Southwest Outstanding Public Servant, Hon Olukayode Bamisile for Southwest Public Defender,Hon Noel Ola Elehinle who is on the board of OSOPADEC was honoured with Southwest Outstanding Development Leadership Award and Asiwaju Muyiwa Ojo-Polar, a US based business man got Southwest Distinguished Diaspora Ambassador Award.
Also, Dr(Mrs) Olufunso Ogunyemi the Principal of Staff Development Centre, Ado Ekiti was awarded for Southwest Outstanding Development Leadership, Engr.Adedapo Adesemoye,a successful businessman got Southwest Humanitarian Award, Mr Femi Odere,former SSA Diaspora to former Gov Fayemi was recognised for Southwest Distinguished Diaspora Ambassador Award while Mrs Adefolalu Adelayo, Ondo Director of NOA was awarded Southwest Distinguished Leadership Award (Public Enlightenment), Mr Akinwumi Abodunde,a director in OSRC went home with Southwest Outstanding Presenter Award and Mr Oluwaseun Owoseeni, the director of News, Yes FM, Ibadan got Southwest Outstanding Presenter Award.
Others were Mr Toluwalase Ogunbusuyi of Toluwalase Events who got Southwest Young Outstanding Enterpreneur Award and Mrs Olubola Adeleye went home with Southwest Role Model Award.
Dignitaries at the event were Mr Olofinmuagun,EKSU PRO, Mr Bayo Phillips, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Economic Planning and Budget,Justice Sgun Ogunyemi of Ekiti State High Court, Dr.Akinyemi Fadiyimu, Provost FECA, Prof Jegede who represented EKSU VC,Pastor Omotosho, Barr Akosile, Director of Finance, Ministry of Economic Planning and Budget.
