The Acting Director General of the National Youth Service Corps has charged 2022 Batch C stream ll corps members to sustain the spirit of patriotism, hard work and resilience which they have imbibe during the orientation course.
She implored them to strive to meet the expectations of Nigerians by contributing towards the progress and development of our dear country.
This call was made by the Ag. Director General, Mrs Christy Ifenyinwa Uba during the closing ceremony for 2022 Batch C stream ll Orientation Course.
Delivering the Acting Director Generals address, the State Coordinator of the National Youth Service Corps Oyo State, Mrs Grace Ogbuogebe enjoined them to accept their posting in good faith, reminding them of the oath of allegiance they took during the Swearing-in ceremony.
She urged them to perform their duties diligently and be guided by the NYSC ACT and Bye-Laws as well as work place rules and regulations.
In keeping the objective of the scheme, she advise them to integrate into their host communities while also appreciating and respecting their cultures .
She enjoined them to undertake personal and group projects that will help uplift the living standard of the people of their host communities.
The Acting DG further said she is impressed with their participation in the SAED programme, she encouraged them to build on the Skills they have acquired by availing themselves the opportunities for post camp training as it will empower them for selfreliance.
She assured them that the management will continue to explore avenues for optimizing the impart of SAED programme.
Mrs Uba further implored them to be good ambassador of NYSC as well as their families and institutions of graduation.
She urged them to be wary of acts that can portray the Scheme in bad light, especially drug abuse, trafficking, cyber crimes and advance fraud.
She implored them to be law abiding and also serve as role models for the younger ones.
The Chief Executive Officer reiterated her warning against corps members embarking on authorized journeys and night trips . She advised them to cut short trips from six O'clock in the evening and pass the night at safe places.
She urged them to board vehicles only at designated motor parks so as to avoid falling into the hands of criminals.
Mrs Uba extended her appreciation to the Federal Government for its unwavering support to the Scheme.
She also appreciated the State Government, Local Government Councils, Security Agencies, NCDC, Traditional Rulers Corps Employers and other stakeholders whose support have continued to impact on the schemes operations.
While wishing them an impactful and rewarding service year, she officially declare 2022 Batch C stream ll Orientation Course closed.
