FUOYE VC commissions Alumni new building





The Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University Oye- Ekiti,  (FUOYE), Professor Abayomi Sunday Fasina, has commended the institution's Alumni Association (FUOYEAA) for its initiatives and implementation of laudable projects in the world-class University

Prof Fasina Made this known at the commissioning ceremony of the secretariat built by the association under the leadership of Comrade Temitope Arogundade ( Bishop), which was held at the Alumni Village of the Ivory Tower.

His words "As part of the itinerary for the 8th FUOYE convocation, I am happy to commission the building and also thanked the association for supporting the university with 36 fridges during the accreditation exercise 

“This is the first in the history of the university. FUOYE alumni association is doing well on its way to achieving one of its goals, I laid the foundation of this building some months ago, and now, we are here commissioning the building "

" I believe in results and I want to encourage you to do more" 

Earlier, the National President of the Association, Mr. Temitope Arogundade welcomed all members of staff and students to the commissioning ceremony

" The association had a lot of projects they were going to embark on, citing more buildings that would generate income for the association". 

The president thanked the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Fasina, the Director of the Advancement Centre, Prof Bukola Oyawoye, and other principal officers for their support of the association.

" We are going to start phase 2 of this project soonest, the project will commence without delay"  he added 



According to him, the administration of Professor Fasina has brought a new good name to the university, saying that staff and students can attest to the developmental strides that have occurred in the university particularly the new structures,  new faculties, new directorates, green revolution, uninterrupted academic calendar, shuttles buses for staff and students and many more.

" We are being motivated by all these giant strides to move our association to an enviable standard"


The president however called on the alumni both at home and abroad to come back to give back to their alma mater and urges them to continue to support the association.

Highlights of the event included plantations of tree, among others.
