The Special Assistant to the Ondo State Governor on Emergency Response, Hon. (Prince) Oriade Wellington Adebawo sprang into action today Monday November 11, rescuing victims of a devastating collision between two vehicles conveying cocoa and loaves of bread along Uso-Owo road, Ondo state.
Hon. Adebawo who was returning to Akure from Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa's campaign tour in Owo Local Government, swiftly intervened at the accident scene, ensuring timely medical attention for the victims of the ghastly accident. The Special Assistant's prompt intervention was crucial in preventing loss of life at the scene.
While evacuating the victims with the assistance of his team, reinforcements arrived as officers from the Nigerian Road Safety Corps, Police, and Amotekun joined Hon. Adebawo at the scene as they jointly facilitated the transfer of victims to the Federal Medical Center, Owo, for urgent treatment.
Subsequently, in his bid to prevent further accident at the same scene, the Special Assistant on Emergency Response also ensured and supervised the towing of the collided vehicles and the transferring of the goods in them to a safe location.
While speaking, Hon. Adebawo said that Governor Aiyedatiwa's administration has consistently emphasized emergency preparedness and public safety, adding that his timely effort mirrors Governor Aiyedatiwa's caring heart. He further urged road users to exercise caution and report incidents promptly to emergency services.
