C. E. O, Havilah Merchants, Lanre Adesuyi Applauds FUOYE’s Bold Tribute to National Icons

The Chief Executive Officer of Havilah Merchants Nigeria, Lanre Adesuyi, has commended the Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE) for what he describes as a “monumental recognition of legacy and nation-building,” following the university’s decision to name its main library in his honour.

Speaking to the director of Advancement Prof Olubukola Oyawoye , Adesuyi expressed profound gratitude and emphasized the deeper meaning behind the gesture.

According to him, “This is not just about having a building named after someone,”

“It’s about recognizing value, honouring national development, and inspiring a generation. FUOYE has done exceptionally well, and in doing so, they are encouraging individuals like me to continue giving back in bigger and better ways.”

The naming exercise marking a historic first for the institution was coordinated by FUOYE’s Directorate of Advancement, led by Professor Olubukola Oyawoye.

Professor Oyawoye explained the significance of the project: “This initiative is rooted in legacy. These names reflect excellence across different walks of life, and we hope they will serve as constant reminders of what is possible when people choose to serve their nation with distinction.”

Also, the Acting Vice-Chancellor, Professor Olubunmi Shittu, also described the initiative as “strategic and transformative,” aligning with the university’s goal of being both globally competitive and deeply connected to Nigeria’s socio-cultural vision.
