Ajilo Support Group breaks silence over Ita-nla Billboard Removal

The attention of 'Ajilo Support Group has been drawn to the deliberate and unauthorized removal of campaign billboard of Dr. Michael Akintomide Ajilo, a foremost aspirant for the Ondo East/West Federal Constituency seat under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the 2027 elections, located at Ita-Nla Junction in Ondo City.

The billboard, which was erected less than a month ago through an agreement facilitated by Adeniyi Adeyosoye (Neyo) - a legislative aide (LA1) to the incumbent Member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Abiola Makinde, was fully paid for upfront with a contractual understanding that it would remain in place for a period of 3 months.

To the utter dismay of 'Ajilo Support Group, the billboard was unceremoniously dismantled and replaced with another bearing the image of Hon. Makinde, without any prior notice or legitimate explanation.

'Ajilo Support Group has deemed it necessary to bring this development to the attention of the public, political stakeholders and security agencies in Ondo Kingdom. This act is not only provocative but also potentially destabilizing, especially considering the already fragile political atmosphere within the constituency.

Even if Dr. Ajilo and Hon. Makinde are no longer politically aligned due to principled differences, this divergence must not be used as a pretext for acts of provocation or intimidation aimed at undermining the peaceful conduct of political activities. Such conduct is unworthy of our party, APC, which upholds the values of internal democracy and civility.

'Ajilo Support Group' believes this act, reportedly executed by Hon. Makinde’s aide, is capable of igniting unnecessary tension and should be addressed swiftly to prevent escalation.

The Support Group , therefore, calls on Hon. Abiola Makinde to rein in his aides and discourage further actions that may incite conflict or disrupt the peace within the Ondo East/West Federal Constituency political landscape.

In a related development, 'Ajilo Support Group' is making it clear to the agent of trouble making that nothing should happen to the rest of their principal's campaign billboards henceforth in Ondo Kingdom, to buffer acts of provocation.

Furthermore, the Support Group urges Adeniyi Adeyosoye to correct this error in judgment without delay and restore the agreed-upon terms in good faith. Personal relationships should not be sacrificed on the altar of political overreach and ambition.

The 'Ajilo Support Group ' reiterates its commitment to issue-based and peaceful politicking and firmly believes that the APC must not be brought into disrepute by individuals or groups seeking personal advantage through underhanded tactics.
