FUOYE Partners NDPC on Digital Responsibility Drive

The Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE) recently hosted a landmark event tagged “Repositioning FUOYE’s Image: Institutional Outlook in the Digital Era”. 

The program, held at the Fasina Conference Centre, was declared open by the Acting Vice-Chancellor, Professor Olubunmi Shittu, 

Other dignitaries who graced the event included ; the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration), Professor Tajudeen Opoola, and the Registrar, Mr. Mufutau Adesina IBRAHIM was represented by Mr. Sunday Akinkumi. 

Newsline NG learnt that the he event drew participation from staff, students, alumni, and NDPC representatives in a robust discourse on digital responsibility, institutional image, and data privacy.

In her welcoming address,  the Director of Advancement, Professor Olubukola Oyawoye, described the initiative as a statement of FUOYE’s determination to reposition its image in the digital space while equipping students with skills for responsible technology use.

Professor Olushola Ayanda, who spoke on “Building a Professional Online Presence as a FUOYE Brand Ambassador”, encouraged students and staff to leverage digital platforms to project the university positively.

Also, Dr. Tolu Fadipe, a representative of the NDPC, ably represented by Barrister Alex Onwe, delivered a paper on “Online Indiscipline, Offline Consequences: Institutional Risks of Irresponsible Digital Behaviour”. 

He warned of the reputational and legal dangers that institutions face due to careless online conduct.

While the Ag. Director, ICT,FUOYE ,Mr. Durojaye Samson, represented by Mrs. Ibiwunmi Ayo-Ajayi, presented  paper on “Digital Citizenship: Promoting Responsible Online Conduct Among University Communities”, highlighting the civic duty of students to embrace digital responsibility to enhance both personal and institutional credibility.

Delivering his goodwill message, the Alumni President, Mr. Temitope Arogundade, pledged the continuous support of the Alumni Association. 

He emphasized that protecting FUOYE’s image is also about safeguarding the legacy of its graduates, describing the program as a timely intervention to encourage responsible online behavior across the FUOYE community.

However, The NDPC representatives commended FUOYE for setting the pace in digital advocacy.
